Surakarta, PT SOLO ABADI INDONESIA – Solo Abadi supports the noble hope of the wife of the mayor of Surakarta and the head of the Solo City TP-PKK, Selvi Ananda, who expressed his desire to reduce the stunting rate in Surakarta to zero cases. He made this statement on Thursday (07/10/2021) in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which took place at the Indah Palace Hotel Solo.
Stunting or the condition of children not growing as they should in Indonesia has now become the focus of government attention after President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s order to prevent and reduce stunting prevalence to 14 percent in 2024, as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2024.
The government of Surakarta itself responded to this very positively, as evidenced by the number of stunting cases which decreased quite significantly, namely as many as 459 stunting cases until October 2021 from the previous year which amounted to 1,059 stunting cases. This decline in cases did not immediately make him complacent, he had ambitions to reduce the number of cases so that stunting cases continued to shrink and Solo zero stunting realized in 2022.
Selvi Ananda expressed the urgency of stunting because of the serious impact it could have in the future. Therefore, the stunting condition in Indonesia, and especially in Surakarta, needs to be resolved immediately before it is too late.
“Because the long-term impact is related to the (quality) of human resources,” said the wife of Gibran Rakabuming.
Furthermore, intensive handling of stunting cases has also been built since last June, Mrs. Selvi Ananda conveyed related to the dangers of long-term stunting.

“The risk of stunting is a long-term risk that must be paid more attention to. We all have to focus on reducing stunting. Because children are the next generation of the nation. From before marriage, for the bride and groom, nutritional intake must be prepared from before marriage, during pregnancy to while breastfeeding,” he explained at the 1000HPK Parenting Prevention Education Event for Mothers and Families, at the Posyandu Sejahtera Building RW 30, Mojosongo Village, Thursday (17/6/2021)
