Surakarta, PT Solo Abadi Indonesia – Solo Abadi in the SobadTalks segment again invited educators to review the implementation of the merdeka curriculum. This time Solo Abadi took Dr. Sutikno, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the Principal of SMK N 2 Sragen in the discussion. The discussion was held at the PT Solo Abadi Indonesia Workshop on Wednesday (16/11/2022).
Brief Profile of Dr. Sutikno, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The figure of Dr. Sutikno S.Pd., M.Pd. who is also familiarly called Mr. Tikno, has been in the world of education for 19 years. Since starting his career as an educator in 2003, Mr. Tikno has always carried out the noble task of educating the younger generation. Prior to becoming the Principal of SMK N 2 Sragen, he held the same position for two other vocational high schools in the Sragen area.
With this track record, he has gone through various curriculum changes and reacted to them well. Like now, in the duration of 10 months of teaching as a Principal at SMK N 2 Sragen he shared his experiences with us.
Understanding the Merdeka Curriculum at SMK N 2 Sragen
As an innovation should be, there are major challenges that follow. Although, Mr. Sutikno responded positively to this curriculum update. He said that the key to dealing with updates is to open oneself to updates and make sense of them. By welcoming innovation and renewal positively, it will be easy to explore these reforms.
The merdeka curriculum, according to Mr. Sutikno, means a curriculum with the main vision of independence. The independence in question is freedom in seeking sources of knowledge and freedom in conveying competence.
In the discussion which lasted for 33 minutes, he also mentioned his great hope for the existence of an independent curriculum. He hopes that this curriculum can produce future generations who are more literate in technology who are aware of their own potential. Mr. Sutikno also conveyed a number of messages to his main teaching staff under the auspices of SMK N 2 Sragen to always open up.
