Surakarta, PT SOLO ABADI INDONESIA – With the principle of solving stunting in Indonesia, Solo Abadi appreciates and supports the National Population and Family Planning Agency or BKKBN in collaboration with the Ministry of Religion and the National Research and Innovation Agency for early stunting prevention. Adhering to the spirit of “Golden Indonesia, Stunting Free” (Indonesia Emas, Bebas Stunting) BKKBN conducts convergence, cooperation between ministries and institutions at the center. Hasto Wardoyo as the head of the BKKBN then stated that currently there is a team to accelerate stunting reduction between ministries and institutions including the Ministry of Religion and BRIN. This is one of the BKKBN’s efforts in realizing the statement and order from Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo that the BKKBN is a government institution that is now in control of stunting prevention efforts.
“The BKKBN is in control of stunting prevention from now on. Once again, these activities will be coordinated by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture and the head of their implementation is the Head of the BKKBN,” said the head of state.
Stunting itself not only inhibits children’s growth physically but also cognitively. Meanwhile, one in four Indonesian children under five is stunted, this figure is certainly worrying. For this reason, more effort is needed.
Furthermore, this effort is also in line with the commitment of the Head of the BKKBN to improve access and quality of government services in dealing with stunting. Always trying to prevent and reduce the prevalence of stunting to 14 percent in 2024, as regulated in Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2024. Currently, the prevalence rate is still 27.67%.
“It must be fast because in 2024 Mr. President Jokowi expects the stunting rate to be 14%, then there is only 2.5 years left so that one year it needs to decrease by 5% … For that we need to work hard (to reduce the prevalence of stunting)” he explained
The urgency of stunting can certainly be overcome if all lines of society participate in stunting prevention from an early age.
